While Spring City is not an official trailhead, there is parking off of Bridge St at the Riveredge Square shopping center. The trail is paved down to the Cromby trailhead. This section of the trail is 3 miles long with a gentle 40 foot change in elevation approaching the Cromby Generating Station. Then drops 20 feet to the Cromby Trailhead. If you plan on continuing to Phoenixville, there is a steep hill as you cross over Township Line Rd. with a 100 foot change in elevation.
The Cromby Trailhead has a paved parking lot, it is not gated and no facilities. The traffic on the trail increases as you approach Phoenixville. The best times to walk or cycle is in the afternoon.
